Definition Elementary event

Events or elementary events are what one calls the results of random experiments. When throwing a six-sided dice, for example, the elementary events are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

When drawing a card from a deck of cards, the elementary events are the 32 different card values. The set of all elementary events is called an event set.
