This statistic displays the number of deaths by cause in Finland in 2014, by gender. During this year ischaemic heart disease was the leading cause of death accounting for over 4.8 thousand deaths among females and 5.5 thousand among males. Cancer was the second leading cause of death among individuals in Finland with approximately 3.5 thousand women and 4.2 thousand men affected. This was followed by other cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
