Russia's largest freshwater lakes in 2020, by area
As of 2020, Lake Baikal located in the Russian Siberia covered an area of 31.5 thousand square kilometers and was therefore the largest freshwater lake in the country. The next largest freshwater lake in Russia was Lake Ladoga with an area of 17.7 thousand square kilometers located in the Leningrad Oblast and the Republic of Karelia.
