In 2021, the volume of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions produced by the industrial sector in Russia increased by over five million tons of carbon dioxide (CO₂) equivalent, amounting to 260 million tons of CO₂ equivalent. The 2021 year recorded the highest figure over the period under consideration. Back in 2010, Russian industry emitted approximately 197.8 million tons of CO₂ equivalent of greenhouse gases into Earth's atmosphere.
