In 2022, Dutch respondents taking part in this survey who did not have a fixed-term employment contract were asked why they did not have this type of contract. Around 10.5 percent of survey respondents without a fixed-term contract said they were on temporary contracts because they had just started working for their current employer. By comparison, only 0.9 percent of survey respondents stated not to have a fixed-term contract because they did not care that much about security.
