Number of new hepatitis B infections Japan FY 2022, by age group
In the fiscal year 2022, approximately 585 people in Japan aged between 70 and 74 years old were newly diagnosed with hepatitis B (HBV) at municipalities. In total, around three thousand new cases of hepatitis B were reported by municipalities. Municipalities in Japan offer periodic hepatitis B and hepatitis C (HCV) examinations for people aged 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, and 70 years old.
