True steel use per capita in Taiwan 2008-2017
In 2017, the true steel use (TSU) per capita in Taiwan amounted to approximately 603 kilograms of finished steel equivalent. True steel use is obtained by subtracting net indirect exports of steel from apparent steel use (ASU). ASU is defined as production or deliveries plus imports minus exports of steel industry products and is commonly used to measure steel demand. ASU can be calculated for finished steel products or crude steel equivalent. TSU per capita is calculated by dividing total TSU by population size.
