Export volume of Hyundai Ioniq Electric from South Korea 2016-2022
Around 16 thousand Hyundai Ioniq cars in three variants, all electric, hybrid electric, and plug-in hybrid electric, were exported from South Korea in 2022. Compared to the year before, sales of the Hyundai Ioniq cars in all three variants dropped, as the model was discontinued and only the remaining inventory were shipped. The hybrid variant of the Ioniq was first exported in January of 2016, with the electric variant launching in February and the plug-in hybrid variant in November of the same year. In the South Korean market, the hybrid variant was launched in January 2016, with the electric variant starting sales in June that year. The plug-in hybrid variant of the Ioniq was only released domestically in March 2017, several months after it was first exported.
