U.S. weather stations with decreasing snow by region 1970-2019
Southern States in the U.S. have witnessed less winter snow by 2019 as they had in the 1970s, particularly in the Southeast where 91 percent of weather stations recorded a decrease in snowfall in winter months. Although it is not completely clear how new snowfall will be affected everywhere in the United States, less snow is being observed in the spring and fall as well, and there is also a clear downward trend for most regions for total snowfall.
