coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in 2020 had a huge impact on the sport industry, leading to the cancelation of many leagues and championships across all sports. One way in which professional sports were safely reintroduced was to play the games out in empty stadiums, with some broadcasters allowing the natural sounds of the sport to be heard rather than the usual noise of the crowd. In a survey conducted in the United States in May 2020, 14 percent of respondents stated that these natural sounds made watching the sporting event much more enjoyable.
