Ports in North America issue the highest charges in comparison to the other ports worldwide, with Long Beach and Los Angeles charging 173 and 197 U.S. dollars per day, respectively. The European ports impose charges less than the American ones but more than ports based in the Middle East and Asia. Hamburg charges 65.6 U.S. dollars on average, the highest in the region. The Middle Eastern and Asian ports have relatively cheaper charges ranging from six to 40 U.S. dollars, with Busan charging 6.60 U.S. dollars on average.
