Slave exports from the Thirteen Colonies by origin and year 1768-1772
It is estimated by the U.S. Census Bureau that approximately 1.6 thousand slaves were exported from the Thirteen Colonies (and Florida) between the years 1768 and 1772. Of these 1.6 thousand, 1,449 were sent to other colonies in the continental Americas, while 149 were sent to the West Indies (107 of which were exported in 1768 alone). In 1772, 492 slaves were exported from the Thirteen Colonies to other European colonies in the continental Americas, which is over a third of the total number of exported slaves to these colonies between 1768 and 1772.
