Carbon dioxide, a significant contributor to global warming, has been increasing steadily over the years. As of 2019, most CO2 emissions came from China, India, and non-World Bank borrower countries. Unsurprising, the world's poorest countries (IDA eligible borrower countries) were the lowest emitters of CO2.
