In 2020, the import of iron and steel into South Africa amounted to an approximate value of 934.8 billion U.S. dollars. This was a decrease in value in comparison to the preceding year when roughly 1.11 billion U.S. dollars of the products were imported. Furthermore, China was one of the main trade partners of South Africa concerning iron and steel imports with a share of nearly 30 percent.
