In 2020, eight out of the ten largest revenue-generating electricity companies in Latin America were located in Brazil, including Spanish Iberdrola and Italian Enel's subsidiaries in the South American country. Nevertheless, the ranking was topped by a large margin that year by Mexico's state-owned electric utility, with a revenue of more than 25 billion U.S. dollars.
