Per capita meat consumption in Germany 1995-2020, by type
In 2020, the average German consumer ate 55.9 kilograms of meat (excluding mutton, rabbit, and horse meat). Pork is the most popular type of meat Germans consume and accounts for 32.8 kilograms of meat consumed. The only significant long term trend visible since 1995 is an increase in poultry consumption. Between 2010 and 2020 pork consumption has also declined.
