Young working population with skills mismatches in Africa 2019, by gender
Up to almost half of the young African workforce considered having mismatching skills for their correspondent jobs in a survey conducted in 2019. Roughly 33 percent of the young male working population in Africa were underskilled, compared to around 26 percent of the young female workforce. On the other hand, over 20 percent of young females had more skills than required, while 14 percent of young males considered themselves overskilled for their jobs.
