Cereal production in Africa 2021, by country
In 2021, the production of cereals in Ethiopia amounted to 30.1 million metric tons, making the country the leading cereal producer in Africa. Nigeria and Egypt followed with around 29.9 million and 22.3 million metric tons of cereal production, respectively. On the other hand, Djibouti and Cabo Verde recorded the lowest levels of cereal production among the African countries.
