Brazilian presidential elections held on the 2nd of October of 2022, Lula da Silva, candidate for the Workers' Party (PT), received roughly 57.26 million ballots, equivalent to 48.43 percent of the total. He gathered the largest amount of votes in the Northeastern region, where also the largest gap between him and Bolsonaro can be observed. There, the PT candidate was voted for by 21.73 million Brazilians, nearly 13 million ballots more than Bolsonaro´s.
