Debit card penetration in Argentina in 2011, 2014, 2017, and 2021, by demographic
According to a three-year survey, roughly half of all Argentinians owned a debit card in 2021 but only 37 percent used one. The difference between ownership and usage was roughly 18 percentage points in 2021, although this difference did decline when compared to 2017. The report adds that men were more likely than women to own such a payment card in the South American country. Gen Z - or the age group 15 to 24 years in this survey - generally owned fewer debit cards than their older counterparts.
