Russia's energy solar capacity has increased at an accelerated rate over the period from 2013 to 2022.
As of July 2023, the Russian company Unigreen was projected to become the leading solar power energy investor in Russia under the second capacity supply agreement (CSA) for renewable energy sources (RES) by 2035. Avelar Solar Technology owned by Hevel, a joint venture between the Russian industrial group Renova and the state-owned nanotechnology enterprise Rusnano, led the ranking by realized capacity, having installed over 1.1 gigawatts (GW) as of July 2023.
