Premature deaths related to air pollution in Austria 2021, by pollutant
In 2021, there were an estimated 3,200 premature deaths in Austria attributable to high exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5). Meanwhile, high concentrations of nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) were attributable to more than 800 premature deaths.
