Preference of gender of political leaders worldwide 2024, by country

Worldwide, nearly 60 percent of the respondents in a survey had no preference regarding the gender of the political leader in their country. Meanwhile, more than 60 percent of the respondents in Indonesia preferred a male leader, whereas more than one third in South Africa would prefer a female leader.
