Distribution of people receiving income assistance Australia 2022, by weekly income
In 2022, 72 percent of Australians had a weekly income of 1,000 Australian dollars or more, while only 13 percent of those receiving assistance from the Salvation Army had a similar weekly income. A total of 38 percent of respondents said that their weekly income was less than 500 Australian dollars a week.
