This statistic displays the percentage of U.S. adults that enrolled in some type of health care insurance through the (ACA) marketplace by June 2014, sorted by age group. By this time, 21 percent of adults between 19 and 34 years of age selected in a private health plan through the marketplace. After the first enrollment period of the Affordable Care Act between October 2013 until March 2014, the share of uninsured working-age adults decreased dramatically. During this time, approximately 14 million citizens chose a private insurance or enrolled in Medicaid.
