GHG emission trends and projections for installations covered by the EU-ETS 2005-2030
Greenhouse gas emissions from stationary installations covered by the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU-ETS) decreased by approximately 38 percent between 2005 and 2022. With existing measures, emissions from stationary installations covered by the EU-ETS are projected to fall by a further 28 percent by 2030. This would represent an overall emissions reductions of 55 percent relative to 2005 levels. Stationary installations covered by the EU-ETS include power and heat generation plants, as well as various facilities from energy-intensive industry sectors, such as oil refineries and steel works.
