Vacant retail stores in the United Kingdom (UK) 2014, by retail property type
This statistic shows the percentage share of retail stores standing vacant in the United Kingdom (UK) by property type. Since 2009 many high profile retail brands have gone into administration in the UK, with the media declaring such times as the 'death of the high street'. According to the report's analysis however, high street stores have the lowest share of vacancies when compared to retail parks, shopping centres and stand-alone stores. As of January 2014, approximately 37 percent of stores in retail parks stand vacant.
