Melatonin users among children and adolescents in Denmark 2018, by age and gender
The number of prescriptions of melatonin among children and adolescents in Denmark was higher among boys in the younger ages, from 0 to 17 years. The difference was especially significant in the age group from 10 to 14 years, where the number of prescriptions among boys was almost double as high as among girls. The number shifted for the older age groups, where the number of prescriptions of melatonin was higher among girls, especially in the oldest age group, from 18 to 24 years, where the number of prescription among girls was around 2.3 thousand and the number among boys was around 1.8 thousand.
